A firm that size has a hard AV problem. Every office needs meeting rooms that work the same way. Staff move between sites. They should not have to learn new gear each time.
Siemens Energy fixed this with Yealink. The IT team picked the MVC400, MVC860 and MVC960 Microsoft Teams Rooms systems. They fitted them to rooms of every size, from small huddle spaces up to extra large boardrooms.
UVC84 and UVC86 cameras frame the room and follow the speaker on their own. VCM36 wireless mics reach the far ends of a long table. RoomPanel and RoomSensor units show which rooms are free and which are in use.
There was a second win for the business. Better video meetings meant fewer flights. That cut travel emissions.

The Challenge: One Standard for Every Room Size
When COVID hit, Siemens Energy ran on video calls alone. Client meetings and investor briefings all moved to screens. The gear had to work first time, every time.

Yealink covered the whole brief. Siemens Energy could buy the camera, the audio, the compute, the touch panel and the room booking screens from one brand. Every room runs Microsoft Teams Rooms. The controls are the same in a two person huddle space and a full boardroom.

How It Works Day to Day
- Check the room on the way past. The RoomPanel at the door shows the booking. The RoomSensor shows if anyone is inside.
- Start the meeting. Teams Rooms looks the same in every office. There is nothing new to learn on a different site.
- Let the camera work. The UVC84 or UVC86 finds the people, frames the room and follows the speaker.
- Drop a mic on the table. Staff pick up a VCM36, put it where they need it and start talking. There is no cable to run.
- Join from home. Staff working from home use MeetingBoard or DeskVision A24 and get the same meeting.
